The College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, hosted a public discussion for master’s student (Senaria Jamal Ibrahim) from the Department of Computer Science. Her thesis was titled:
“Heterogeneous Traffic Handling Software-Defined Data Center Network Using Critical Intelligent Switch Aware Techniques”
on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in the discussion hall of the Department of Computer Science, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Nadia Adnan Shaltagh.
The discussion committee consisted of the professors listed below:
- Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sabah Al-Araji – University of Technology / Electronics and Communications Engineering – Chairman
- 2. Dr. Fouad Ali Yassin – University of Baghdad / Electronics and Communications Engineering – Member
- Assist. Dr. Ahlam Hanoun Shanin – University of Baghdad / Electrical Engineering – Member
The thesis aimed to classify traffic in software-defined networks. The thesis also included a detailed classification of network traffic, classifying it according to specific, approved characteristics. The results of the classification process were then relied upon to direct traffic. Based on this, the thesis produced a set of recommendations, including:
1.The importance of using a multi-layered dynamic control architecture for software-defined networks (SDN) to overcome low reliability and single-point failure problems.
- The possibility of applying a fuzzy logic controller to adjust ISSNN parameters.
- 3. The importance of improving large-scale SDN networks.
After a scholarly discussion by the members of the examination committee, listening to the researcher’s defense, and evaluating the thesis, the researcher was awarded a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering.
